Kimberly Akimbo is a performance that premiered Off-Broadway at the Manhattan Theatre Club New York City on February 4, 2003. Starred by Victoria Clark, and Directed by Jessica Stone, often celebrated for his potential for bonding humor and harsh reality.
The story took place in 1999 in suburban New Jersey, a teenager called Kimberly was born with a disorder that made her age four and a half times than she actually is. Put in an difficult reality to experience mortality and adolescence at the same time.
Unlike the rare clinical condition, she is struggling with, Kimberly is rarely seen taken care of in her life, in fact, you will see her compassionately consumed by her family’s recklessly, which places her in various emotional burdens including psychological strain, financial troubles, isolation, and the need for belongingness.
