The Chicks’ Taking The Long Way 20th Anniversary Tour is coming to Bass Concert Hall in Austin, Texas on Tuesday, October 20th, 2026. The show is going to be a long evening of great music to celebrate the 20th year since the release of The Chicks’ iconic album Taking The Long Way that earned the group multiple Grammy Awards. The setlist will include songs from the record such as “Not Ready to Make Nice,” “Goodbye Earl,” “Cowboy Take Me Away” and “Wide Open Spaces.” This is going to be the ultimate experience for fans of The Chicks as they will get to see them on stage performing at the top of their game delivering their strong three-part harmonies that hit all the deep personal chords that their fans of the group love so much.
Performing songs like “Not Ready to Make Nice,” “Goodbye Earl,” “Cowboy Take Me Away,” and “Wide Open Spaces” The Chicks’ songs feature the group’s well-known three part harmonies and have connected with fans on every level. The Chicks’ most recent album, “Gaslighter,” was released in 2020. The album explores The Chicks’ growth as artists, tackling personal issues as well as more complex and political subjects such as “March March” and the album’s title track “Gaslighter.” In total The Chicks have won 13 Grammy Awards, 5 of which were awarded in 2007 for the album and film “Taking The Long Way.” Since the release of “Taking The Long Way” the group has continued to push the boundaries of country music and speak out on issues affecting women and the rest of the community. Their distinctive sound incorporates elements of country, rock and bluegrass to create a diverse and unique sound.
The Chicks will be performing at the iconic Bass Concert Hall in the heart of Austin, Texas. The hall offers an intimate setting in which The Chicks’ music will be filled into every note with the best acoustics. There are also three levels of seating including an Orchestra level, Mezzanine and Balcony. Within the venue there are a number of concessions providing the concert goers with refreshments throughout the show.
Parking for events at Bass Concert Hall is typically not a problem. There are several parking lots and street spaces within walking distance to the Bass. Arriving early to park in the spot you prefer is recommended.
