Initially Kimberly first premiered on broadway November 10, 2022. “Kimberly” giving a connotation of strength and nobility, and “Akimbo” a demeanor of classic hand on hip pose, visualizes the challenge Kimberly is facing, and the strength she is building.

Kimberly Akimbo is a show that opened Off-Broadway at the Manhattan Theatre Club New York City on February 4, 2003. Starred by Victoria Clark, and Directed by Jessica Stone, often celebrated for his potential for uniting humor and brutal reality.
The tale begins in 1999 in suburban New Jersey, a teenager called Kimberly was born with a disorder that made her age four and a half times than she actually is. Put in an difficult reality to experience mortality and teen years simulataniously.
Unlike the rare clinical condition, she is facing, Kimberly is rarely the center of attention in her life, in fact, you will see her nobly consumed by her family’s recklessly, which puts her in various emotional burdens including psychological strain, financial struggle, isolation, and the need for belongingness. Highlighting her resilience, empathy, determination, courage, and above all humor.
