The inspiring plot of the musical unfolds in a comfortable lodge in Minnesota amidst the hardships of the Great Depression. It's a story that zooms into the lives of the characters staying there - guests and long-term residents alike. All of them carries their own cross and what makes this play intriguing is how it intertwines all these characters' lives.

He highlights that when it comes to a straight play, the challenge lies in entertaining everyone merely through the script and performance. However, in a musical, there arise instances where someone might suggest, “Shall we have a refreshing pause for everyone's benefit?” and you'd positively accept, thinking it sounds quite fascinating.
